Join our team

What is your office view? These are ours… Join our team to appreciate them everyday.

We are a small team, but from time to time we have opportunities to join our team, either for paid work or on voluntary basis. We know we’re biased, but we think the views are pretty spectacular, with an outlook onto Brancaster Staithe Harbour, and a mix of cropping, woodland and environmental stewardship.

Agricultural worker

We are looking for an agricultural worker to join our team at our family farm on the North Norfolk coast. We’re an organic, arable farm of 300ha, including our woodland, managed with established nature friendly farming practices.

We are currently growing spring wheat and spring oats. The farm is in a mid-tier countryside stewardship scheme so alongside the cropped areas we have lots of flower-rich margins and plots, wild bird seed mixture and cultivated areas for arable plants.

The candidate must be licensed to drive a tractor and trailer on the road and have experience of doing so. Other land work experience such as cultivating is preferable, but we can provide some training.

Hours and days worked can be flexible and vary week to week, as well as during term-time and holidays, if you are currently studying. Please let us know your availability so we can discuss a suitable arrangement. No over-time rate is offered, but hours will be longer during key harvest days.

The role

We are a small team so the role will be varied but the bulk of the role over the summer will be:
• Tractor and trailer driving
• Barn work
• Irrigation if weather requires it
• Variety of jobs operating telehandlers, if qualified
• Woodland work on occasion

We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, and can guarantee work through to September. However, there is the opportunity for this to be a longer-term role if we find the right candidate. Within reason, we can scale it up or down dependent on the season and any college requirements you may have.

The person

• A keen individual who is willing to listen, communicate and learn from peers
• An awareness of farm safety and attention to detail and for tidiness
• Some farm experience
• An interest in nature friendly farming practices
• A team player who’s prepared to use initiative
• Punctual
• Full UK driving license

Unfortunately, we cannot provide accommodation. We are on the bus route between Wells & Hunstanton, however, due to timetabling, this is not ideal for the end of the day, so it is definitely beneficial to have your own transport.
