Pricing: | Lead adult £10, additional adults or children £5 each, plus booking fee |
Join our local bird ringers, the Lamsdells, from the Iceni Bird Monitoring Group, on a morning bird ringing demonstration. This is an opportunity for a small group of 8 people to see what bird monitoring on the farm involves.
What will we learn during the demonstration?
During the session, Chris and Denise will explain how they monitor the birds throughout the year. They will cover what species have been found on the farm at which times of year. If conditions are right and any birds are caught they will demonstrate how they are then monitored. They’ll be ready and willing to answer your birding questions.
This session is weather dependent, as there is little bird activity while it is raining or during periods of strong wind etc. There is also no guarantee of what species will be found. We will communicate with you as early as possible if the weather does not look favourable and therefore we need to cancel. A full refund will be available if this is the case.
All proceeds from this event will go towards the cost of bird monitoring on the farm.
What should I bring to the bird ringing demonstration?
There is no need to print your ticket, we have a list of participants.
Please wear sturdy shoes as the terrain is uneven (walking boots are ideal, but trainers adequate). Wear trousers to avoid stinging nettles and we also recommend bug spray to prevent bites.
Please note no dogs are permitted on this experience.
